Day 1: Fly to Beijing. 

Day 2: Beijing D
Arrive in Beijing where you will stay at the luxurious Peninsula Hotel 5-star. The rest of the evening is at your leisure to explore exciting Beijing.

Day 3: Beijing B/L/D
Visit historic Tiananmen Square where Mao Tse Tung’s portrait hangs. Then tour the Forbidden City and its gardens. Later, visit the magnificent Summer Palace, the former retreat of the Imperial family and the Temple of Heaven.

Day 4: Beijing - Great Wall B/L/SD
This morning, visit the Ming Tombs, the burial place of Ming Dynasty emperors, and also known as the Underground Palace. After lunch, visit the Great Wall of China, built over 2,000 years ago by Emperor Qin and stretching over 6,000km across the top of China. Back in Beijing, drive by the Olympic site and see the National Aquatic Center (the Water Cube) and the National Stadium (the Bird’s Nest). A delectable Peking Duck dinner completes your visit to Beijing.

Day 5: Beijing - Dunhuang B/L/D
This morning, fly to the 2,000-year-old city of Dunhuang, and once an important caravan stop on the Silk Road. In the afternoon, visit Ming Sha Hill and take a camel ride. See Crescent Moon Spring, nestled among the mountain-high sand dunes of the Gobi Desert. Tonight, stay at the Dunhuang Hotel 3-star.

Day 6: Dunhuang B/L/D
Visit the magnificent Mogao Grottoes, where devout Buddhists have spent their time building the 492 grottoes since 366A.D. These caves contain some of the most important Buddhist art in the world. Also visit the Dunhuang Museum that houses relics from the Han, Jin and Tang Dynasties.

Day 7: Dunhuang – Shanghai – Tong Li B/D
This morning, fly to Shanghai, then travel to Tong Li. Explore Tong Li at your leisure. Tonight, stay at the Tong Li Lakeview Hotel 4-star.

Day 8: Tong Li – Zhou Zhuang - Shanghai B/L/D
Visit the town’s many beautiful bridges and marvel at the exquisite craftsmanship of the houses and temples in this “museum of ancient architecture”. Later travel to Zhou Zhuang and tour the classic garden mansions built during the Qing Dynasty. In the evening, enjoy an amazing Chinese acrobatic show back in Shanghai. Tonight, stay at the Le Royal Meridien Hotel 5-star.

Day 9: Shanghai B/L/D
Visit the Bund, known as the “Wall Street” of Asia. This is followed by a visit to the majestic Garden of Mandarin Yu Yuan built in 1577. Next, visit the People's Square, the Opera House, and the Shanghai Museum, housing the city's priceless collection of bronzes, porcelain and paintings.

Day 10: Shanghai - Kunming B/D
This morning, fly to Kunming, the capital of China's Yunan Province. In the afternoon, travel to the Stone Forest, consisting of 80 hectares of bizarre-shaped limestone cliffs created over 280 million years ago. Tonight, stay at the deluxe Kai Wah Plaza International Hotel *5-star.

Day 11: Kunming - Li Jiang B/L/D
Today, fly to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Li Jiang. In the afternoon, visit the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, Yun Shan Ping, White Sand Mural, Yu Feng Temple, Da Yen Ancient Town and Black Dragon Pool. Tonight, enjoy a Naxi Minority Group Folk performance. Stay at the Grand Hotel Li Jiang *4-star.

Day 12: Li Jiang – Shigu - Li Jiang B/L/D
Today, travel to Shigu, also known as “Stone Drum Town”, the village which overlooks the first bend of the mighty Yangtze River. This 180-degree change in direction is believed to have created China's fertile land and is also where Mao Tse Tung began 'The Long March'. Later, proceed to Tiger Leaping Gorge, the world's longest and deepest gorge.

Day 13: Li Jiang - Hong Kong B
Fly to Hong Kong via Kunming. Relax or tour Hong Kong at your leisure. Stay at the Langham Hotel *5-star.

Day 14: Hong Kong B
Enjoy a half-day tour of Hong Kong Island. Visit Aberdeen fishing village, marvel at Repulse Bay and its pristine beaches, ride to the top of Victoria Peak by tram and enjoy the breathtaking view of Victoria Harbour, surrounded by the mountains of Kowloon and the islands of the South China Sea.

Day 15: Hong Kong – Macau - Hong Kong B/L
Today, travel to the former Portuguese colony of Macau, the oldest European settlement in the Orient. Visits include the Old Fort, Penha Hill, the Bishop's home along the Pria Grande, the ruins of the Church of St. Paul and the Macau Grand Prix racecourse. Stop at the Chinese border and get a glimpse of the Chinese guards before visiting the casino.

Day 16: Hong Kong – Home B
Head to the airport for your flight home.
