Day 1: Arrive in Shanghai
Upon arrival in Shanghai Pudong Airport, you will be met and transferred to the Hotel of your choice for three nights. Rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 2: Shanghai - Suzhou - Shanghai (B/L)
After breakfast at the hotel, depart via train for Suzhou, a beautiful water town crisscrossed by a network of rivers, canals and dotted by lakes and ponds. Upon arrival, visit the Garden of Master Net. This garden was the former residence of Shi Zhengzhi, a high official of the Southern Song Dynasty, who built it after he retired and called it the place for fisherman to retire, meaning its owner wanted to retire from political life and take up angling. Also visit Tiger Hill, also known as Surging Sea Hill, a large hillock covering some 14100 square metres (over three acres) and is 36 metres (118 feet) in height. Climbing the hill, you will find a number of historical sites some of which can be traced back over 2500 years to the founding of Suzhou. Take a boat ride along the Grand Canal. Lunch is at a local restaurant. Return to Shanghai in the early evening.
Day 3: Shanghai (B/L)
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a tour with a visit to Yu Yuan Garden, built in 1577 and recently resorted to its original glory, followed by a visit to the Bund, often referred as the “Wall Street” of former foreign powers. Also visit the People’s Square and the Shanghai Museum, a large museum with its collection of 120,000 precious works of ancient Chinese art. Lunch will be at a local restaurant.
Day 4: Shanghai (B)
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
