Day 1: Arrive Shanghai
Upon arrival at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport, you will be met and transferred to the Le Royal Meridien Shanghai. Rest of the day is at leisure
Day 2: Shanghai - Yichang (B/D)
Fly to Yichang. Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met and transferred to board the MS Yangzi Explorer.
Day 3: Cruise (B/L/D)
The appeal of the Yangtze lies not only in the river’s great natural beauty, but also in the cultural and historical ties which link nearby communities with the life-giving waters. This morning our cruise takes us to the legendary Three Gorges, an inspiration for Chinese poetry and painting for centuries. Arrive at the site of the Three Gorges Dam Project, the largest hydroelectric project in the world. In the late afternoon, pass the Three Gorges Dam 5-Stage Shiplocks.
Day 4: Cruise - Three Gorges (B/L/D)
Today, our cruise enters Xiling Gorge, the longest and most exciting of the three gorges. Upon arrival in Badong, disembark for the Shennon Stream Drifting excursion. See hanging coffins, natural scenery and hear Tuja Songs. Continue past the Wu Gorge with its 12 towering peaks and the Qutang Gorge, just 8 km long, is the most spectacular, with cliffs rising from the waters edge to heights of 1,000 meters and more.
Day 5: Cruise - Fengdu (B/L/D)
Sail past ancient villages and historic sites before reaching Fengdu, traditionally known as the town of ghosts. Disembark and take an excursion of the town. Return to the ship and enjoy a Farewell Dinner.
Day 6: Cruise - Chongzing (B)
This morning, disembark the cruise ship. Head to the airport for your onward destination.
